This project is the creation of a dentist’s surgery from a distinctive early 1960’s dwelling in Norwich. The brief was to convert the existing building with minimal adaptation and alteration for use as a two-surgery dental practice.
The plan kept the existing distinctive, timber panelled form of the building and flat roof but re-insulated and re-roofed the flat roof to give a higher thermal performance.
Windows were repaired and replaced in some instances to improve thermal performance and air tightness. A new heating system was installed and the proposal incorporated lead lined walls to X-ray rooms and hygiene rooms.
The project also incorporated an hygienist’s room, treatment room, waiting room, office and reception areas.
